Common Cannabis Strains in Thailand

The cannabis drug is a widely known for its use as a stimulant. Most people use it to feel “high” and calm their emotions. Though this drug is illegal in most countries in the world, there are people who still find avenues to grow in their farms. Some countries like the Netherlands have legalized the farming and smoking of weed in their country.

In Thailand, it is also illegal and policies have been stated on the penalties that anyone found with the drug can serve in jail. Even with this, people still grow the drug in their farms and are able to sell it. There are many strains of the cannabis drug that are grown in Thailand.

One of the common strains is the Thai cannabis. This is usually known as Thai “sticks” and is said to be among the best strains of cannabis in the world. Thai is a pure sativa landrace that was introduced to the USA in the 1970’s and 80’s. It acquired the name “Thai Sticks” from the Vietnamese because the buds are usually traditionally dried and then tied up into long sticks. The original variety of the Thai strain has given life to other varieties such as Voodoo, Juicy, Fruit as well as the classic Haze. This strain induces a powerful effect to the user which makes him or her feel comfortable.

Another strain is the Thai Haze. This is a blend of the original Thai and the classic Haze strains. It is very effective as the user feels creative and euphorically “high”. It takes a long time to grow as would any sativa type of cannabis. It requires a bit of experience to grow it as it sometimes can be fickle. They are very tall and large thus enough space has to be given to make them better. The effects can be slow to come but once they do, they take control of your head.

Another famous strain is the Chocolate Thai strain. This strain has become among the most desired strai’ns of cannabis due to its characteristic terpene profile and the strong cerebral effects. Chocolate Thai sticks” are so potent that many believed it was initially soaked in “early water” which is a byproduct of an opium plant. It has that chocolate smell which is noticeable by many. It is easily confused for the classic Haze due to its flavor. It takes a while for it to take command of your brain. It works so slow that you get to notice the effects after it has already taken effect. The effect is long lasting.

The other strain commonly used in Thailand is the Chocolope. This is a mix of the Cannalope and the Chocolate Thai strain. This strain of cannabis delivers the most desired traits as those of the classic Thai “sticks”; a choco-smoke flavor and a “high” feeling that makes the smoker think he/she is dreaming due to the strong mental shift. This train allows the user to relieve anxiety and nervousness as well as lack of appetite.
